Former unified world champion Stephen Fulton Jr (22-1, 8 KOs) went toe-to-toe with Carlos Castro (30-3, 14 KOs) across 10-rounds of featherweight action, with Fulton edging Castro via split-decision (96-93 Fulton, 95-94 Fulton and 95-94 Castro).
Against Castro, Fulton moved up to 126 pounds and wound up slugging it out with a veteran. Fulton put together a great performance through most of the rounds, giving him the split-decision victory over Castro.

Fulton justified his role as the -550 betting favorite, winning the fight by a wide unanimous decision in front ofa sold out crowd of 4,695. Daniel Roman, who was at the time the #1 ranked WBO super bantamweightcontender, officially retired following his loss to Fulton.
